Clemens defense goes after chief accuser

WASHINGTON – Roger Clemens’ defense team painted accuser Brian McNamee Tuesday as a disgruntled hanger-on who retaliated because the superstar allegedly delayed $5,000 in training payments, torpedoed business schemes and followed an ever-changing training schedule that wreaked havoc on McNamee’s home life. The account came from New York investment consultant Anthony Corso – who also trained with McNamee – as he was questioned by Clemens’ attorney Rusty Hardin just before federal prosecutors rested their case. “Whenever he did speak about it, it seemed that the relationship was deteriorating,” Corso acknowledged.
